The Adventures Of Tintin 3D (7/10)

I've never read the comics so I didn't really have much expectations, good or bad, going in. But I sort of knew what or who Tintin was all about.

You can't say there was any lack of excitement and action in this movie. There was quite an equal balance between story progression and action. Because when it was time for action, the director and CGI didn't hold back one bit. Some sequences went on for so long that you would just feel exhausted once it ended.

And that was the beauty of this masterpiece. The art and the graphics merged together to produce a very life-like animated movie.

However, somehow, it just didn't pull me in and made me feel that I'm rooting for this hero voiced by Jamie Bell. It might have been the in-between feel of a cartoon and real life, or it might have been the too long-winded story. It actually was so long-winded that I got bored at one point and wished for it to end at another.

Voice-acting wise, I didn't really have much to complain about. Bell, Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, and the dynamic duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost all brought the characters to life. Especially the very together Pegg and Frost for Thompson and Thomson. Nothing hilarious but they played off each other very well.

So to say that this wasn't a success would have been a robbery, but to say that I was totally entertained would have been inaccurate too. The story and the graphics just didn't portray enough heart.
