What the trailer didn't show was that the story would later become something like another typical fairy tale with a witch and a spell and a body-change. And that was the one and only downfall of the movie.
I guess originality really is hard to come by these days from Hollywood. Fortunately though, Brave still lived up to the Disney / Pixar behemoth of a name. The movie was well made with beautiful colours and really relatable characters.
And at every turn there was a lesson told and to be learned. There was a line in one of the monologues that I really loved, "Without expectations... anything can happen." How true is that? We unfortunately in this man-made world, live our lives in and inside expectations. Seldom nothing from the imagination or of the extraordinary can happen.
This story told a beautiful tale that every kid and every parent should see because those lessons, without learning and without becoming aware, will be repeated every single day.
