What I thought could have been better for this animated movie was the pacing. The beginning wasted no time in getting into the heart of the matter, which was to get back to New York. And I really appreciated that because we could skip all and any introductions to our heroes.
But the scenes where they bought over the whole operation of the circus to their first failed performance were a little too fast with little substance. And then to have everything slowed down immediately after that, things sort of went nowhere for a little while as they trained with the circus folks.
Luckily, everything went back on track in the final act. Not just that but it was exciting, hilarious and super entertaining until the very end. Full of colours in more meanings than one!
Newcomers in this second sequel, Bryan Cranston, Martin Short and Frances McDormand all contributed tremendously into the fun and their characters.
And what I appreciated most in the animated movies of today, with this one not an exception, are the higher level of messages about living to one's fullest and making everything counts in the moment. We can never be with too much of these.
