Hemingway And Gellhorn (7/10)

Television movies these days surprises me. This one looked like it had such a big budget and production and yet didn't hit the silver screens.

With so many character actors this one was easy to immerse one's self into the experience. Clive Owen and Nicole Kidman brought their best and in turn brought two great historic characters to life.

I also thought that David Strathairn was so compelling and magnetic that he would steal the scene every time he came on.

But running for over two hours long, it wasn't easy to sit through I have to admit. Fortunately I caught this on a plane and had nothing else to do. After two hours I just wanted it to end already.

Perhaps it was a good idea to have this on TV only.

One aspect of the movie that I thought was particularly well done was the transition from real footage (or so it seemed) to the recreation. That was quite clever.
