But definitely a very interesting story as it's part of the Three Kingdoms, and this time from the point of view of Cao Cao; a side of him that has never been told before. Here, contrary to most movies out there, he's made as the protagonist instead of the antagonist.
Chow Yun-Fat has never been this good for a long time, but then again he hasn't made any movies for almost two years now. He's got rounder, maybe for this role, maybe not. And almost unrecognisable at first glance.
The rest of the cast were almost as good. But I still reserve some doubts for Liu Yi-Fei as I wasn't as moved by her as from most of the other young actresses that have taken roles in similar movies of the same era.
This movie wasn't really driven by action, but more on politics and drama surrounding Cao Cao. And I thought the drama bits drove the movie well enough.
