Eleanor Tomlinson was just OK, but Nicholas Hoult was as deadpan as Kristen Stewart in Twilight.
And then I saw big names started appearing out of nowhere. Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane and Ewn McGregor. And I thought why would such a movie attracted all these character actors.
But as the story progressed, magic started happening. Once they climbed up the beanstalk, everything began to be more exciting. And the turn of events were surprisingly good too.
There were a couple of times I thought that the movie was about to end and I would have been contented there and then, I wouldn't mind coming back for a sequel; but it went on and became even more interesting.
Finally, when the credits started rolling, and then that was when I realised it was a Bryan Singer directed movie. Everything started to make sense.
I only wished they had found a better lead.
