Ruby Sparks (7/10)

Call me a romantic but I thought this was a piece of art. It caught me by surprise and I was really entertained and touched by the detail in the story.

The follow-up to Little Miss Sunshine by directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris were the perfect choice for them even if it's after six years. I'm now looking forward to their next project. They took a choice on Zoe Kazan's screenplay and turned it into a masterpiece.

Kazan embodied Ruby Sparks and awkward Paul Dano again was the perfect choice to lead opposite her. The project even recruited big names like Annette Bening, Antonio Banderas, Elliot Gould and Steve Coogan; all of whom were entertaining in their little parts.

And I'm glad nothing was explained in the end. There was closure without real closure. This is seldom satisfying but in this case, it was.

Also, funny how the movie poster also showed someone in a running form, just like Little Miss Sunshine.
