Every time he's on screen, he stole everything. Nobody had more electrifying magnetism than Cumberbatch. Everything he did had a little something extra to it. I particularly enjoyed the scene he shared with Quinto in their respective ships exchanging words. Even without prosthetics on him, he looked like a different man. He ought to receive an Oscar nomination for this role.
I also particularly enjoyed Pine's performance and his character's growth throughout this journey. There was a lot of heart in the writing and that really showed.
And with a cast of this size and even with the addition of Alice Eve, J. J. Abrams didn't miss out on any of the main characters showing each of their individual storyline, albeit some smaller than others.
And to have that kind of impact from beginning to end, I thought this was brilliantly done with the kind of pacing it had and yet not losing any action or drama. This is so far the best movie of the year.
Star Wars VII is definitely in the best hands.
One thing I didn't understand was why so many cuts on the frames were performed throughout the entire movie in Brunei though. For the most part, I didn't see anything that needed to be censored off.
