Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters (7/10)

I literally counted the years for this sequel to arrive. It was by no means anywhere near anything that's considered one of the great offerings of 2010 for the first installment but I liked it.

And this time, there was no disappointment to be had. What I wanted to see was more gods and fabled monsters and I had them.

Hermes played by Nathan Fillion was a nice addition. His sense of humour is always welcomed for me and only a Fillion fan will catch his self-deprecating jokes.

There were some continuity issues, but of course in a movie like this, where a fish-horse animal could at one time be summoned with ease and at another nobody "remembered" that it was just there to make the escape. Or the sense of space didn't seem precise at all as that small yacht could seem to fit a monster and so many other demi-gods onboard.

However, I liked the sea monster part and the cyclops and any other monsters that appeared. I only wished the bull in the beginning wasn't mechanical.

Also, the messages about being who you are and write your own destiny was added very nicely into the story as well.

This was the first time I enjoyed Leven Rambin's performance as she never impressed me before. Alexandra Daddario still has the most beautiful eyes. And Logan Lerman still going strong as the lead.

I can't wait for the next installment and wish they wouldn't take three years again because the cast's age aren't waiting around.
