Escape Plan (7/10)

The team-up of Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger has been a long time coming. And I thought this was a great and fun movie for them to be working together after finally being able to put their egos aside.

Having said that, however, this was far from being the perfect movie for these two legends (I do use the term loosely but I don't think they are that far off). The intricacies in the detail wasn't that well told. The explanations in the end could use more clarity. The way Stallone was inserted into the prison was a bit lame and could have been done better.

But then again, maybe it's because it wasn't that great an escape plan to begin with that a lot of things were just hidden from the audience or camouflaged under all the vague script and lines.

When I saw Vinny Jones appeared and then Jim Caviezel, then followed by Sam Niell; they got me really excited and my hopes up even higher. In my mind, I jumped to the end of the movie where the showdown of Stallone and Schwarzenegger with Jones and thought how awesome that was going to be. But it turned out to be quite a letdown as I was just not impressed.

And the potential of Jones and Niell, especially Niell, were massive but they were not utilised at all. Especially Niell, who left me wondering why he was even in the movie.

But all in all, I still found it very entertaining with a legitimate team-up between the two movie giants.
