I was hoping for something like Infernal Affairs, but it was not as clever or thrilling.
In fact, the final 20 minutes I could have done without because it felt so draggy and slow. The pacing throughout could have been polished as well.
I didn't like the choice for their main character. Lee Jung Jae didn't look the part of someone who has been undercover for almost 10 years and have grown through the ranks, getting respect from all the followers. He didn't look tough at all, but he did look aptly lethargic.
Hwang Jeong Min and Lee Min Sik fared much better in their respective roles. Especially Hwang who brought in a lot of comedic flavour. Lee was the more serious one with more layers.
But for the action scenes, I didn't enjoy half of it. Some were just too unrealistic in their modest way. I found it unbelievable how one character just would't die.
The story was quite straight forward. No real twist that really shocked me. So it was just a decent movie with a nice story.
