Thor: The Dark World 3D IMAX (8/10)

I liked this so much that I watched it twice on the IMAX. And I'm now convinced that to experience a 3D movie the best way is to watch it on the IMAX.

I loved the first Thor, and this one was very close. I loved how the first one set up the world of Thor and how this one followed up with more character developments, like the rest of Thor's friends who had more screentime this time.

Zachary Levi took over as Frandal this time and brought more humour. Although, I believe Josh Dallas could have performed just as well. But there's the feeling of familiarity with Levi since I've watched him for years now.

Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson and Jaimie Alexander were more enjoyable to watch too since we are now more familiar with their characters. Kat Dennings was more charming than ever and really brought her character up another level. And I loved how they brought in that running joke of how she called Mjolnir from the first one into this one. Dennings is definitely a great addition to this franchise.

But the best thing about The Dark World has got to be Tom Hiddleston and his method acting to bring Loki alive with so many layers to his character. His acting is probably the best here. His internal struggle came through so clearly and he made the audience love Loki even though he is a villain.

Not forgetting, the man responsible for this was Alan Taylor who took over from the greatness left behind by Kenneth Branagh. This was Taylor's first full length feature and he did amazing considering everything. He had almost everything down, the action, the drama, the humour.

The only thing I thought could have been clearer was the fight between Thor and Malekith, where they jumped from world to world. Even after watching twice, I wasn't so sure how those jumps and their locations worked. That was just a blur and should have been explained clearer.
