Fun observation: We had Batman and Hawkeye and Lois Lane and Katniss all in one movie. All of them looked so different though. And weren't those hair pieces something?
The first act as the build up was quite slow, I thought. The introduction of the lead characters leading up to the first setup took quite long to get there, and I was even slightly afraid that it wouldn't hold up.
But once there, it got really interesting really fast. And it hit a high with a special cameo appearance. However, this cameo didn't quite do it for me even though it was really fun to watch. It didn't elevate the scene to a "magical" level like what Tom Cruise did for Tropic Thunder or Matthew McConaughey for The Wolf Of Wall Street.
All the actors made this movie what it was. The brilliance that each one brought made the whole that much better. I particularly liked Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper's characters as they were so fun to watch because of their personalities. Even Jeremy Renner in a smaller role was a great look for him as I have only seen him in action movies.
That's not to take anything away from Christian Bale and Amy Adams, of course; who were the backbone to the cast. Their attraction for each other held the plot together. I loved that line Adams threw into Bale's face, "You are nothing to me until you are everything." So powerful and raw and selfish.
The story was very, very well written, the characters were fantastic creations, and the direction was what brought everything together to tell that great story.
