Dallas Buyers Club (9/10)

An unrecognisable Matthew McConaughey, who lost all his buff, gave another performance of a lifetime. Reminded me a little of Tom Hanks in Philadelphia where he lost weight for the role too, but McConaughey had much more to lose.

It's an amazing story to see how one man took upon himself to go up against the entire FDA system, and from a self-preservation standpoint he was able to create a business model.

It had a great script, great direction, but it was the performances of McConaughey and Jared Leto that made this movie what it was. It was both their chemistry that created the unlikely onscreen friendship that was both endearing and touching.
