Yasmine is set to open in Brunei and Indonesia sometime August this year. Produced by Origins Film, directed by Siti Kamaluddin. Starring newcomer local actress Liyana Yus and also Indonesian star Reza Rahadian.
One of the bigger name attached here would be Hong Kong martial arts choreographer and stunt director Chan Man Ching, who has worked with big names like Jackie Chan; and it's definitely a real treat for us that he's willing to lend his skills to such an "indie" movie like Yasmine.
The first 30-second teaser trailer has already been playing in the local cinemas for a while now. However, I have to say that it did nothing to get me excited for the movie. Having watched it a few times, I have no idea what the story is going to be about, so I can't really get behind it at the moment.
Here's hoping the next trailer will show more. And maybe some insane (OK, doesn't have to be insane but just eye-catching) fight scenes that could get me to cheer about it more.
But it's definitely good to see that international movie websites have written about our not-so-little-anymore film so it's definitely exciting.
