Ant-Man Loses Director Edgar Wright, What Happens Now?

(Picture sourced from AMC Movie Talk)
Slated to release 14 months from now, it has just been reported that Edgar Wright has dropped out of Ant-Man as its director, due to "creative differences".

Wright is the man that brought us Shaun Of The Dead and one of the rare few that I have given a 10/10, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. So of course I'm sad to see him go.

Marvel is still going to push on ahead to meet the release date for the summer of 2015 but here's the quandary. Wright is also responsible for the screenplay. And when you have the director who is responsible for a movie's screenplay, that vision totally and completely belongs to the director and will be difficult to have someone else step in and bring that original tone from the screenplay to life.

There definitely will be some re-writes happening and hopefully we will still get Ant-Man next summer. And if Marvel and Kevin Feige can pull this off by still producing a fantastic Ant-Man by the pre-determined date, Marvel is almost unstoppable at this point.
