I was in Singapore on the same day that #xmenlive happened there, coincidentally. This was last week, May 14. But it was of course a very exclusive event and only those with special invitations can meet the cast and watch the movie.
Nevertheless, that didn't stop me or any of the fans to crowd around the area outside Shaw Lido since 2pm when the cast of Hugh Jackman, Peter Dinklage and Fan Bing Bing only arrived after 7pm. I only came back to the area at 6pm so naturally I was furthest away from the blue carpet.
Hugh Jackman arrived first and in all his graciousness took a slow pace along the blue carpet, taking a lot of selfies with fans. I could only manage to glimpse the back of his head for less than a second. That's how many people there were in front of me and they all had their phones way up in the air.
Peter Dinklage came about half an hour later and the screams from fans were relentless. The organisers arranged a few tee shirt air guns but none of them seemed to work. Dinklage fired one almost vertically and the tee didn't even cross the metal barriers. The cast resolved to just throwing and passing it to the younger fans.
Finally, Fan Bing Bing arrived with the screams continued. She looked gorgeous. The funny thing I saw was one fan who was successful in getting the three stars for selfies but he never really got his phone to work properly, as you can see him again trying to fix it on the top picture below.
But the disappointing thing was that during the Q&A on stage, there weren't any new information given to the public about the movie. So we all had to wait another week for the official release. Not too big a thing but still, nothing juicy or interesting during the blue carpet event.
