I just talked about this just last week, excitedly too, that Guillermo del Toro and Emma Watson are making a reimagined Beauty And The Beast movie. But today del Toro has confirmed that he will no longer be directing, although he will still stay on as a producer.
Watson is still attached as of now (and hopefully for the duration of making the movie) and the script will still be the one that del Toro wrote.
I don't want to see just any Beauty And The Beast. I want to see del Toro's vision and version. I want to see Beauty And The Beast through that incredibly imaginative and sometimes twisted mind of his. Now I'm no longer as invested in this. It would be interesting to see who they bring on to direct now, but whoever that person is, they are not del Toro.
