Marvel Started Search For Doctor Strange Actor

It's happening faster than I thought, though I shouldn't really be surprised seeing as it's Kevin Feige and Marvel after all. If there's a studio you can count on today to be moving things along, it's Marvel!

Having just secured a director (Scott Derrickson) for the movie just a few days ago, they have now turn their focus to the actor that will bring Doctor Strange to life on the big screen. And the names that they have been looking at are the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hardy.

Make no mistake that Marvel is bringing in talent for every one of their projects. Though may not be household names just yet but both Cumberbatch and Hardy certainly have the chops to become it. It's only a matter of time.

Any of the two playing Doctor Strange is actually fine by me. I am a huge fan of Cumberbatch and believe he is the more talented one out of the two incredible actors, but I can also see Hardy becoming the Marvel magician. And in this case, though I would love to see Cumberbatch stepping into Marvel as soon as possible, I'm actually leaning towards Hardy for this role as a personal preference. Even from the picture above, Hardy already resembles the Doctor. He just has to get leaner a little bit.

And if it isn't this project, I'm sure Cumberbatch will be offered something else in the coming years now that he's in Disney's radar. And I have a feeling J. J. Abrams may also bring him onboard for a Star Wars sequel. He was without a doubt the best thing in Star Trek: Into Darkness.

Either way, I'm just happy that this project is moving along.
