Robert Downey Jr's Acting Challenge In The Judge

Here's the real test for Robert Downey Jr. He was one of the greats when it comes to acting before his alcohol abuse took him out of the game almost permanently. And Iron Man brought him back.

But every since Iron Man and Tony Stark, he hasn't done anything dramatic and serious until The Judge. So this will really test him to see if he can become anyone else other than Tony Stark, given that his famous last words in Iron Man 3 was, "I am Iron Man." We can't count Sherlock Holmes because that in itself is another larger than life character.

But surrounding him with the likes of Robert Duvall, Billy Bob Thornton and Vera Farmiga - all character actors - can only help him bring out his best.

So let's wait and see if Downey Jr can put his Tony Stark persona aside and climb back up to the top again.
