The Dilemma (5/10)
A film by Ron Howard, but it didn't seem like it.
This must have been Howard's next attempt at a rom-com after Splash. You could argue as more of a brom-com but still, it's the same genre. And, unlike Splash, it didn't work well this time.
Kevin James and Vince Vaughn shared enough chemistry onscreen. But I didn't think the script did them any justice. They could have been funnier but all that talking didn't seem to go anywhere.
Then you have Jennifer Connelly who didn't have too much screen time, and Winona Ryder whose chemistry with James was just off.
Channing Tatum had a couple of moments but Queen Latifah looked out of place.
It felt like there were a lot of plot points and the direction just didn't come together. The screenplay however made me feel like had this been directed by Woody Allen, it would have had a better result.
