Hall Pass (8/10)

Written and directed by the Farrelly Brothers, this is what they do best.

Plus the great chemistry between Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis, this turned out to be quite the entertainment.

There were some great moments where I laughed my head off, and there were some that caught me by surprise at the visual gags. But moment by moment, scene by scene, always entertaining.

But there was one character that I could have done without. Stephen Merchant didn't do this movie any good. He was a waste of time because all of his jokes (or jokes written for him) fell flat. His character always stuck out like a sore thumb, fish out of water, or a weird Brit in a group of Americans - which was what he was here. He wasn't written in properly and so didn't fit into the movie properly.

Other than that, I liked the rest of the cast. Christina Applegate always is funny. Jenna Fischer served her role just enough. Nicky Whelan and Alexandra Daddario, probably more unknown back then, did their parts well. Richard Jenkins had a good cameo too.

At the end of the day though, it was Jason Sudeikis that stole the show. His comic timing was excellent. I've never seen him this good. Even beside Owen Wilson, he was the one that always grabbed your attention.

I would like to see these two together again.
