There have been talks of Oscar for the movie Foxcatcher and I am finally caught up with why. After seeing this second trailer, I can see a few nominations going its way.
And how beautifully was this trailer cut? It was intense, creepy and mind blowing. I was so hooked on every scene and kept asking myself what was going on that I had to watch it a second time, and then look for the first trailer and watch that one.
Steve Carell, Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo, so far, are the 3 actors that are receiving some Oscar buzz. Rightfully so for Carell and Tatum who clearly showed a different side of them in these trailers, but Carell has already been the talk of Cannes to win the golden statue.
What's more, look who's directing. Bennet Miller, who has only directed two full length motion pictures - Moneyball and Capote - but both of them have garnered multiple Oscar nominations including Best Picture. And it gave Philip Seymour Hoffman his one and only Oscar win.
So expect this movie to gain some steam and nominations going into the award season. And it's high time Carell gave a performance of his life. I can't wait to see him do it.
