Remember the Japanese mind-twisting horror, Audition? Well, it seems like Spike Lee's remake of Old Boy has brought back the Asian shock-horror genre.
Already written by Australian writer-director Richard Gray, who also reportedly will direct, there will be a few name changes but the storyline will more or less copy the original novel by Ryu Murakami.
I have not watched the original yet because back then, after The Ring, there was a flood gate opened for Asian horrors and most of them were filled with cheap scares that put me off greatly. So this was one of the ones that I skipped.
But after how the original Old Boy blew my mind (I just watched it last year), I'm now interested in movies with these shock-value. So will definitely catch Audition soon.
