Sinister Six Get Release Date, Spider-Man 3 Delayed
Contrary to what pouting and whiny comic fans believe, The Amazing Spider-Man franchise is full steam ahead and not dead on arrival.
However, The Amazing Spider-Man 3 will be pushed back, way back, all the way to 2018!
Sony and Columbia Pictures will be sticking to their plan of releasing one movie from the franchise every two years. So, come 11 November 2016, the Spider-Man villains spin-off - Sinister Six - will be released first.
And having Drew Goddard, the genius behind The Cabin In The Woods, to write and direct is one of the main reasons some fans have not completely given up after the somewhat lukewarm Spider-Man 2. A lot of fans are interested to see what Goddard does next after his directorial debut with Cabin.
I for one didn't dislike The Amazing Spider-Man 2 too much, I thought there were more good than bad in that movie; with one particular bell tower scene forever etched in my mind. So having to wait till 2018 disappoints me a little. 2018 is 4 long years away! Sure, Peter Parker has to grief after suffering a great loss, but 4 years before we get to see Mary Jane show up?
At this rate, they could even bring back Shailene Woodley if Marc Webb is still attached by then and if he gets his way.
