Bradley Cooper To Play Mack Bolan

I won't be surprised if Bradley Cooper embarks on the action hero route. He's done so well with Rocket Raccoon that I'm sure someone inside Marvel is looking for a character for him to embody next.

While that's going on, Cooper has been reported to be re-teaming up with The Hangover director, Todd Phillips, to bring Don Pendleton's novelized action hero Mack Bolan to the silver screen.

Bolan, also known as The Executioner, has appeared in over 600 novels as a series that has sold over USD 200 million since 1969. His character is said to be the American version of James Bond. Although, somehow, I have never come across this character or series before throughout my Hardy Boys and Alfred Hitchcock days.

If this project pans out, this will also mark the first action movie for director Phillips, who has always been doing comedies thus far. So for him to take on this property will be quite the challenge, though one can argue that in The Hangover there were bits and pieces of action sequences as well.
