Popular Console Game The Last Of Us To Get Movie Adaptation
If you are a gamer and not hiding under a rock, you would have heard of The Last Of Us, which many lauded as a mini-movie more than a game.
I myself have not had the chance to play the game, though it has always been one that I want to pick up. (It's just that I've never finished the last 3 that I bought; Lego Marvel Superheroes, Arkham Asylum and Skyrim.)
The Last Of Us will be released by Screen Gems, the studio that brought us the Resident Evil franchise. No director or cast members have been named yet, although Maisie Williams have been approached to play Ellie; of which I say, great choice! She has been one of the best parts of Game Of Thrones and I would love to see more of her in other stuff.
The script is currently been adapted by the game's writer-director, Neil Druckmann; who has confessed that it's not all smooth sailing adapting a 15-hour long narrative into a short 2-hour movie run-time. But the main storyline will stay true to the game.
