Tom Hanks, Ron Howard To Continue Da Vinci Code Trilogy

The Da Vinci Code came out in 2006 and Angels & Demons in 2009. Now Tom Hanks and Ron Howard have confirmed to make another adventure for the character Robert Langdon created by Dan Brown. Inferno has been given a tentative release date of December 2015.

Both movies' adaptation have been very, very close to the source material. Especially in The Da Vinci Code, almost all of the plot points have been crammed into the 2-hour movie. This only proved that what's written on a book shouldn't be translated directly to the silver screen. This is where an adaptation for the movie becomes very important.

Having said that, the first movie raked in very good numbers while the second was profitable as well, albeit not to the numbers of the first movie. I personally thought the first movie was just okay, and the second one was a slight step up from the first. But I cannot remember any details from both movies except Paul Bettany whipping himself as the albino.

Hopefully both Howard and Hanks have figured out a better way to adapt these books and we shall see a better movie come Christmas season next year.
