Finally, a movie for Will Smith that will capitalise on his charms.
It really feels like Smith needs this, bad. After the failure of After Earth (which I still think was a very good movie - I know, I'm really in the minority on this but the messages in there spoke to me loudly) and all that negativity that has surrounded him for a while in the rumour mill, Focus looks enough like Hitch to play into his favour.
And Margot Robbie will help the movie. After her surprising and astonishing performance in Wolf Of Wall Street, a lot of people including me will want to see what else can she bring to the table. Playing opposite Smith is a good move for her, too, as this movie will definitely get her noticed.
She's got the talent and she's got face, and she was one of the best things in the short-lived Pan Am TV series. An export of Australia, she definitely can do well in Hollywood.
Focus feels like it could be another sexy heist movie but with a more serious tone. It will be released in 27 February 2015.
