James Wan is doing good things with Fast & Furious 7. And before taking on that project, he's said that he's done with making horror movies. So it's a bit strange for him to be back-paddling right now.
But apparently New Line Cinema wants him back. And what better movie for Wan to come back then back to the franchise he co-created, The Conjuring? The whole team of writers and the main cast are back for the sequel, too.
Back when it was announced that Wan will no longer be attached to the sequel, I had lost a little bit of faith for the franchise, even if Vera Farmiga and Owen Wilson will reprise their roles. A lot of the success of that movie came in its direction and the vision of Wan.
So now with Wan back again, and with him having taken the break to do Fast & Furious 7, here's hoping he'll bring with him a new level of interest and experience to go into making The Conjuring 2.
The unfortunate news now for The Conjuring sequel is that it's been pushed back and delayed for one whole year. The movie doesn't even have a date yet but is in the 2016 window.
