Laggies (5/10)

Usually these type of coming-of-age movies involve teenagers, but this was one that was about a twenty-something year old who had no aim in life.

Keira Knightley portrayed that bum. To a certain extent, it was a bit unrealistic, for me at least. I couldn't really get behind the story as it developed.

But Chloe Grace Moretz, whom I've always said is great as a supporting role, once again delivered with believable teenage angst.

And Sam Rockwell here must be one of the most normal of roles, playing a lawyer and a father. I thought he had charisma, but also I thought I kept seeing the loony Rockwell just about to burst out.

It was a slow story and took some time to build up. But it just never got interesting enough for me.

At least, though, this was an original piece of work written by Andrea Seigel and directed by Lynn Shelton. It looked like this was an adaptation from a book but it's actually not.
