The world's most influential and original female rocker, Janis Joplin, who died tragically at the age of 27, is getting her own biopic. And Academy Award material Amy Adams is set to star as Joplin.
Although it's a well-known fact that Adams has some pipes on her, but I'm still uncertain that anyone can ever replicate Joplin's soulful and raspy vocals that just fills up a room when even playing on the radio. Adams will have some work ahead of her for preparation.
The director attached to this project is Jean-Marc Vallee of the Dallas Buyers Club fame. And if everything is to proceed forward, he may be getting his writers on Dallas Buyers Club to come on and do the rewrite for this biopic.
The movie is to start shooting on the second half of 2015.
