From the director of Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Rupert Wyatt, and the writer for Body Of Proof and The Departed, William Monahan; starring Mark Wahlberg, Jessica Lange, John Goodman and Brie Larson.
The trailer honestly didn't show too much. I actually preferred the red band trailer version of it as Goodman was featured way better in that one. But any first trailer is to get its audience interested, and I am interested even though I still have no idea what the plot of the movie is about.
Wahlberg's hairdo actually reminded me of his Dick Diggler role in Boogie Nights. And this movie looks like it's going to be another good one for him.
It's always interesting to see what would come out of a first-time collaboration between the director and the actor. And having seen what Wyatt did with Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, this will be an interesting partnership with Wahlberg.
The Gambler is scheduled to be released on 19 December 2014.
