Strange Magic comes from the mind of George Lucas himself. And he's got his Lucasfilm and Industrial Light & Magic create and produce this animated movie.
However, the trailer itself didn't show anything original or interesting, and hence wasn't that appealing.
This could be because of the not-so accomplished writing department and also a not-so experienced director, Gary Rydstrom, who is more of a (Academy Award winner) sound technician than a director. But I could be very wrong and this could still turn out to be a gem. But for the moment, nothing about it, not even the CGI, pulled me in.
Plus those songs, they bore me.
Starring the voice talents of Evan Rachel Wood, Peter Stormare, Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Maya Rudolph, and Alfred Molina. Strange Magic will be released on 23 January 2015.
