San Andreas looks like another typical natural disaster Hollywood movie.
Only this one features one of the biggest, if not the biggest, charismatic actor working today, Dwayne Johnson. His made such a great career transition that you don't even need to mention "The Rock" anymore to know who Johnson is.
But nothing about this trailer shows that this would be anything more interesting than seeing how a city falls apart from natural disaster.
I'm sure it will start off with setting up some of the key characters like Johnson and Carla Gugino, then the disaster happens, and you have Paul Giamatti as the science guy who understands what's going on so as to give the audience the expositions. Then there is the subplot involving the gorgeous Alexandra Daddario - who in my opinion cannot be in enough movies just now - and I'm surprised she's got this much screen time in the first trailer.
So beat by beat we can pretty much surmise how the movie is going to go. Hopefully there will be some good surprises along the way.
But that creepy song in the background will become annoying as more and more trailers start to go in this direction and make it a trend. It worked well in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, but not here.
