Paulo Coelho's Veronika Decides To Die First Trailer For US

The title caught my eye. This was one of the very first Paulo Coelho's work that I've ever read, even before The Pilgrimage and The Alchemist. From then, I've read many more of his books, some I understood, a few just went over my head.

For some reason, this movie was made in 2009 but never got a release date in the US and the UK until now. I can't find any reason as to why but I'm guessing - from this trailer - the movie isn't any good?

This trailer and its narrative looked horribly boring. Perhaps it's the way it was cut, perhaps it's just a boring movie. The book itself had a point at the end. About how Veronika's life started only after she decided to commit suicide. I remember it was poignant and healing. Will the movie capture all those detail?

Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jonathan Tucker, Veronika Decides To Die will hit selected theaters on 20 January 2015. I know there are a lot of Coelho fans out there so maybe it will be much easier to catch this movie now that it has a US release. Or maybe not.

One thing to note, the director Emily Young never directed anything else after this movie...
