Emma Watson Cast As Lead In Beauty And The Beast

As Disney continues to bring its classic cartoons to the silver screen in a live-action adaptation, Emma Watson has reportedly signed on to the next incarnation of Beauty And The Beast.

The movie will be directed by Bill Condon, who also directed the last two Twilight movies (arguably the best out of that franchise) and also The Fifth Estate. Sure, none of these were anything to boast about; but before them was Dreamgirls, and he did bring out the best of Eddie Murphy in that movie.

We will be able to see another of Condon's work before Beauty And The Beast, as he brings another adaptation of Sherlock Holmes but this time, an aged one. Starring Ian McKellan as the titular character, Mr. Holmes, it'll be interesting to see what comes out of this.

As I imagine the character Belle from the classical cartoon, and then imagine Watson performing that character, I cannot see a more perfect match. Watson also has joked on her Twitter account that she'll be starting to take some singing lessons and practice those songs, meaning this movie will be a musical.

Now let's see who Disney will cast as Beast. There is no release date yet for this movie.
