Mission: Impossible 5 Pushes Release Date Forward
Originally scheduled to be released on 25 December 2015 - one week after the opening of the biggest movie on the year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I warned of the danger of that decision six months ago (wow, times flies).
Now, Paramount Pictures have announced that the fifth installment of Mission: Impossible will in fact arrive 5 months ahead of schedule, making it a summer blockbuster with the date 31 July 2015.
Production must have gone extremely smooth for the studio to have such confidence in releasing the movie so soon. Begs the question again, what's taking Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice so long? I'm still waiting for Warner Bros. to surprise us with a similar announcement.
Mission: Impossible 5 (still without a subtitle) will bring back Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg, with newcomers to the franchise, Alec Baldwin, Rebecca Ferguson and Simon McBurney. Christopher McQuarrie, who also wrote Jack Reacher and Edge Of Tomorrow, directs.
