As the filming date draws near, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed that the femlae lead role has gone to The Maze Runner star, Kaya Scodelario.
Scodelario began her acting career in the critically-acclaimed Moon, directed by Duncan Jones (who is currently working on the big screen adaptation of the Warcraft title).
With the success of The Maze Runner, filming for the sequel, titled Maze Runner: The Scorched Trials, must have ended because by next month, Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales will start filming in Queensland, Australia.
Directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, and starring the returning Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush and possibly Orlando Bloom, with newcomers Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites and now Scodelario; the release date is scheduled to be 7 July 2017 (it's a really long way away and filming begins now?!).
