Tom Hardy Pulls Out Of Suicide Squad
Suicide Squad is losing one of its stars in Tom Hardy.
Hardy's decision must have been a difficult one because it was due to his current filming of The Revenant going longer than previously scheduled.
The Revenant is directed by the current nominated director of this year's Academy Awards, Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu, for Birdman. The Revenant also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Domnhall Gleeson.
So now, director of the Squad, David Ayer, will have to find a replacement for Hardy's character, Rick Flagg; and there has been reports that Ayer is going after his lead for End Of Watch, Jake Gyllenhaal.
I've always considered Hardy and Gyllenhaal of equal calibre and style. They are both great character actors and excel in creepy or intense roles. If Gyllenhaal decides to sign up, it will be the perfect substitute. And bringing a talent like Gyllenhaal into the comic book universe is always a good thing.
