The Big Short is an adaptation of Michael Lewis' book of the same name, with the subtitle, Inside The Doomsday Machine. The book recounts the few people responsible for the economic collapse of 2008.
Responsible for this project is Brad Pitt and his Plan B production company. The Big Short is the second Michael Lewis' adaptation, with the first one being Moneyball, nominated for 6 Oscars.
Pitt will star in the movie, and has also attracted mega-names including Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, and just added today, Steve Carrell. All 4 actors are Oscar-caliber. And with Pitt's production house behind it, this could spell another Oscar movie.
