Tomb Raider Is Getting A Reboot
The Tomb Raider movie is set for a reboot, following the foot steps of the game itself which has just gotten a reboot back in 2013.
It has been reported that Evan Daugherty is set to pen the script of this new adventure of Lara Croft.
But I'm not sure if Daugherty is the best person for this job. Looking at the most recent movies that he has written for, Divergent and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, both of which suffered in the dialogue as well as story progression - both of which fell on the hands of the writer, Daugherty.
But we also have to remember that from paper to the silver screen, we do not know how much the director has ignored or improvised. Having said that, however, the faults of both movies in my opinion were the weakness in Daugherty.
Nevertheless, the time is right for a reboot for this title. And it's time we have another actress taking over Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft. Who would it be?
This reboot also saw the changing of hands between Paramount Pictures - which produced the previous two Tomb Raider movies - and MGM; with Warner Bros. stepping in as distributor.
