A lot of up and down has been going on around a Richard Pryor biopic but it seems that one version of it is finally moving forward with Eddie Murphy joining the cast.
Set to play Pryor himself in another version which was to be directed by Bill Condon (who directed Murphy to his first Oscar nomination for Dreamgirls - this would have been equally interesting), Murphy will play Pryor's father in this version.
Set to play Pryor will be original and long-time cast member of "House M. D.", Omar Epps. Another Oscar nominated director, Lee Daniels, will direct.
I do not really know Pryor's work or his life, except that he made a very big impression on me when I watched Superman III for the first time all those years ago. Other than that, all I know is that he's a comedian as well.
No confirmation on when the movie will be out as of now.
