Lawrence Says Apocalypse To Be Her Last X-Men Movie

I've already wondered when I saw her in X-Men: Days Of Future Past, how long will she want to play this character.

Not that she's not appreciative, but I do feel for her, being the most sought after actress in Hollywood today there really is no point for her to keep playing the same character over and over.

In an interview with MTV, she confirmed, "It is my last one, actually, yes."

One could argue that if she really loved the character and the franchise, she could do what Hugh Jackman is doing with Wolverine. However, I would say that it's a different case for her. Her career just took off not too long ago and there are so many different kinds of opportunities for her. To be tied down to a big franchise like the X-Men wouldn't have been a great idea to be honest.

And to be fair, 20th Century Fox had to write her a bigger role in X-Men: Days Of Future Past because her star power has grown so much since X-Men: First Class. And in the comic books, Mystique's role wasn't prominent at all in this particular storyline. But it would have been a foolish move by the studio not to take full advantage of her talent.

Having said that, I am not that big of a fan of this character. I thought she was used better and more naturally in First Class; whereas in Days Of Future Past her presence stood out a bit more than it needed to be.

Then again, who knows what the future holds for the next trilogy of the X-Men? Will Mystique be killed in Apocalypse? Or maybe somewhere down the line, Lawrence may even come back to reprise her role.
