Following the announcement of an actor change for Shredder for the sequel to last year's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Paramount Pictures has bring word that another actor-swap has taken place. And this time with Shredder's supposed daughter, Karai.
Karai was played by Minae Noji in the first movie. I did not care for her at all as I found her a lackluster and completely uninteresting.
And I really like how bold Paramount is with changing the actors. They must have listened to fans' reactions? But if something doesn't work, you have to bite the bullet and do what feels right. Changing this actress feels right.
For the sequel, Brittany Ishibashi has been recruited to play Karai. Whether or not she is written as Shredder's daughter remains to be seen. Perhaps the sequel will shed some more light on this character.
The sequel will be out 3 June 2016.
