I am loving Jeff Daniels so much right now because of his work in the TV series "Newsroom". And to see him popped up in Saturday Night Live when Jim Carrey hosted, playing Carrey's character from Dumb And Dumber To, was hilarious.
Now it is reported that Daniels has been signed onto the Divergent series to play the main antagonist, David, in the final two movies - Allegiant: Part 1 and Part 2.
Here's my problem. Insurgent was a step down from Divergent, and Divergent wasn't all that great to begin with. So having Daniels join this franchise, I'm a bit disappointed. It could be argued that Daniels could add some much needed gravitas to the franchise; but then again, Naomi Watts couldn't help it either. So I'm quite conflicted about this piece of news.
Allegiant: Part 1 will be out on 18 March 2016.
