New Remake Of Stephen King's IT
Cary Fukunaga of TV series "True Detective" fame is set to write and direct a remake of Stephen King's It.
I will never forget that intense sequence created by Fukunaga for the opening of either episode 3 or 4 of "True Detective", where the camera followed Matthew McConaughey's character without editing for roughly 5 to 7 minutes.
For those unfamiliar with King's more popular work, IT tells a story about seven adults who reunite in Derry, Maine, because an evil creature that murders the city's children has reappeared after 28 years.
The original was a two-part miniseries made for TV back in 1990. Now, Fukunaga will remake it as his first full-length feature in the US, and it will also be in two parts.
Fukunaga has also just found his actor for the part of the antagonist, Pennywise. Star of The Maze Runner and We're The Millers, Will Poulter, has reportedly nailed his audition and the very pleased Fukunaga is now going full steam ahead with pre-production.
Poulter can next be seen in last year's Oscar winner for Birdman, director Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu's next movie, The Revenant.
No release date set as of now.
