Matthew Vaughn Confirms Kingsman 2
One of the biggest movies that came out in the first quarter this year was Kingsman: The Secret Service.
It was so successful that a sequel looked inevitable even after the first opening weekend.
And now, director Matthew Vaughn himself has confirmed through a video Q&A with Yahoo! that he's currently writing a script for the sequel already and that it will be targeted for a 2017 release.
When asked if he would make Kingsman: The Secret Service 2 a first sequel that he directs, he said, "I'm in love with these characters and I want to work with them again so I'll probably be breaking the rule of me tending not to make sequels."
But things may change when the time comes so we'll just have to wait and see if we do get a sequel-treat from Vaughn himself.
I really liked the original Kingsman. I don't want them to bring back people who died though. And one of them was one of the key reasons why the film was so successful, Colin Firth. A sequel would not be the same with Firth, just like a sequel to Kick-Ass wasn't the same without Nicolas Cage's Big Daddy. So I'm quite torn about this now.
