Rupert Wyatt has been reported by Entertainment Weekly that he will be directing the upcoming X-Men spin-off, Gambit.
Wyatt is known for 2014's The Gambler, but more notably for successfully resurrecting the Planet Of The Apes franchise, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.
Having only watched the latter, I can see a great character development opportunity by Wyatt for the Cajun mutant. He will also be able to bring suspense and thrills the way he did with Rise. The action part is where I cannot vouch for him, yet.
Gambit will star Channing Tatum as the titular character and set for release on 7 October 2016. This definitely is great news for the 20th Century Fox property.
