The 33 tells the story of the 33 Chilean miners trapped almost 200 feet underground when a megaton boulder (twice the size of the Empire State Building) shifted and covered the only pathway of the mine. This collapse of the San Jose copper and gold mine back in 2010 had the miners endured for 69 days before they were rescued.
The movie is directed by Patricia Riggen and stars Antonio Banderas, Juliette Binoche, Lou Diamond Phillips, Rodrigo Santoro, Gabriel Byrne and Josh Brolin.
This first trailer released by Warner Bros. Pictures gives me the feeling of a documentary-like depiction of said event, added with a lot of dramatic scenes which I hope will not make the movie look over-exaggerated. Just like how the trailer used the song "Say Something", which I didn't think had the effect it intended for and bordered on being cheesy.
The 33 will be released on 13 November 2015.
